Mono-material divider block assembly
Patent number: 10054261
Abstract: The invention is directed to a divider block assembly made from one piece of material. Traditional divider blocks require modular sections so that piston alignment can be calibrated precisely. The current invention uses replaceable pistons and sleeves that are suitable for use at high fluid pressures. The use of these pistons also allows for a single, bodied, one-piece, metal divider body, rather than the conventional multiple block divider blocks, which allows for a more efficient manufacturing method and stronger, more reliable, and more efficient lubricant dispensing system. The use of any of these aspects separately can improve performance, and not all are required in every embodiment.

Environmental compressor protection assembly
Patent number: 8069950
Abstract: A device that relieves lubricant pressure in a divider block lubrication system into a fluid reservoir, a container, or directly back into the compressor frame to which the tubing is connected. This eliminates housekeeping, environmental, safety, and compressor component failure concerns associated with current atmospheric rupture assemblies that relieve directly to the atmosphere. The environmental compressor protection assembly contains a spring set to a pre-determined pressure. Lubricant pressure in excess of this pre-determined set pressure results in spring compression and opening of a relief path. The assembly preferably remains in a full open position and must be must be manually reset to the closed position to prevent fluid flow in the system. The relief path can lead to a fluid reservoir, a container, or directly back into the compressor frame. Flow of lubricant through the relief path results in loss of flow to the lubrication system.

Fluid flow monitor and control system
Patent number: 7970558
Abstract: A method for monitoring a signal from a cycle switch mounted to a lubrication divider block system. The method comprises receiving a signal from a remotely located cycle switch that is mounted to a divider block, wherein the cycle switch is responsive to the motion of a piston in the divider block. The number of cycles of the cycle switch are counted based on the signal from the cycle switch. The number of cycles is stored in a computer readable medium and the amount of lubricant used is calculated based on the number of cycles. The amount of lubricant used is then stored in the computer readable storage medium.

If the fluid flow is not within specified limits, a signal is sent to a pump control device to adjust the pump to return the fluid flow to desired level. A dispensing valve can include a display to show cycle time or other fluid flow measurement. The system can include dispensing valves having single inputs and single outputs for measuring fluid dispensed at a point of use, which measurement can be compared to measurements taken at a divider block earlier in the hydraulic path to verify that fluid sent into the path was actually dispensed.

FLUID DIVIDER BLOCK SUITABLE FOR USE AT HIGH PRESSURES
Publication number: 20100101672
Abstract: The invention is a divider block assembly suitable for use at high fluid pressures. Applicant has found that a sufficiently deep counterbored hole allows a mounting bolt to apply the sealing pressure well below the divider block surface, which can reduce or eliminate the compressive force on the metal around the piston bore, thereby reducing or eliminating distortion of the piston bore of the divider block and providing.

Cycle indicator for fluid distribution systems
Patent number: 7461670
Abstract: A cycle indicator is provided for monitoring movement of a fluid control piston of a divider block for a fluid distribution system. The cycle indicator connects to the divider block in a manner that allows fluid communication between the divider block and the cycle indicator. The cycle indicator includes a spring-biased piston follower that extends into the divider block through a housing so that movement of the fluid control piston is translated to the piston follower. The piston follower extends into the divider block through an opening in the housing. The opening is not sealed allowing fluid within the divider block cylinder to flow past the piston follower and into the housing. Since there is no relative movement between the seal and any moving part such as the piston follower fluid leakage is eliminated or at least substantially reduced. An internal magnet is coupled to the piston follower and activates an external magnet that provides a visual indication of the movement of the fluid control piston.

Fluid flow monitoring system
Patent number: 7379827
Abstract: A fluid flow monitoring and evaluation system providing high accuracy for fluid flow systems having low volumes and high pressure includes fluid flow sensors mounted on positive displacement dispensing valves and a fluid flow monitor that received cycle signals from the fluid flow sensors and processes the cycle signals to determine fluid flow information. Information can be downloaded in from the monitor, even in an explosion rated environment, using infra-red link or data can be transmitted, for example via satellite, for posting on the Internet. The system can include dispensing valves having single inputs and single outputs for measuring fluid dispensed at a point of use, which measurement can be compared to measurements taken at a divider block earlier in the hydraulic path to verify that fluid sent into the path was actually dispensed. A novel fluid flow sensor prevents loss of internal components, yet allows internal components to be removed for repair.

Fluid divider block suitable for use at high pressures
Patent number: 7096889
Abstract: The invention is a divider block assembly suitable for use at high fluid pressures. Applicant has found that divider blocks in common use deform sufficient at high pressures to have an adverse affect on accurate fluid delivery and component longevity. A preferred high pressure divider block uses divider block sections engineered for high pressure applications with substantially thicker material surrounding the piston bore, utilizing precise bolt placement on the divider block sections to ensure even pressure to prevent distortion of the piston bore, and engineered base plate inlet and end sections that allow mounting of divider blocks without the addition of extra intermediate sections to reduce leak paths and bolts to secure the base together more firmly, all bolts being torqued to prevent distortion while sealing fluid passages. The use of any of these aspects separately can improve performance, and not all are required in every embodiment.

Method for altering cable semiconductive layer
Patent number: 5973266
Abstract: A method of altering a portion of the semiconductive layer of an electric power cable, to increase its resistance so as to render it electrically insulative. The semiconductive layer is loaded with carbon powder which forms chains to provide conductive pathways through the layer. By introducing an intercalant into the semiconductive layer, which causes the layer to swell, the conductive pathways are interrupted and the material is rendered insulative (>10.sup.4 .OMEGA.-cm). The intercalant may be a polymerizable material with a curing agent which is cured in situ, i.e., without removing the semiconductive layer from the cable. By this method, flashover to the semiconductive layer at a cable splice or termination may be prevented without requiring tedious removal of the exposed portion of the semiconductive layer. The method is usable with both strippable and coextruded semiconductive layers.

Integrated fluid flow evaluation apparatus and method
Patent number: 5835372
Abstract: A microcontroller directed circuit evaluates volume flows through fluid distribution lines. The control circuit is integrated into a modularized housing designed to retro-fit standard fluid divider valve assemblies. The modular housing includes a plunger-driven magnet positioned to actuate a reed switch in response to divider valve piston reciprocation. The control circuit evaluates the frequency of reed switch actuation pulses to derive intelligible fluid flow related data available for RAM storage or conveyance to peripheral computer devices. In a preferred embodiment, a cavitated cylindrical housing contains a control circuit and a reed switch. A plunger acts as a lever arm to transmit the lateral oscillation of a fluid control piston within a divider valve assembly to a magnetic field source within the housing.
